Moonshine Sweet Tea Granita + Giveaway!

You can’t deny it. Here in Texas we love sweet tea. If a restaurant doesn’t serve sweet tea you can almost gaurantee they won’t make it that long. You just don’t not serve it!

This is all partially why I was so excited about being contacted by Moonshine Sweet Tea to do a giveaway. I absolutely love sweet tea and I’ve actually been drinking Moonshine sweet tea for quiet a while now. If ever i’m running low I make sure to go to one of the farmers markets here in Austin to get my fix.

Moonshine Sweet Tea got started in 1940 by Grandpa Cobb. He began making and selling the tea out of his garage and ever since then they have been using the exact same recipe.

One of the reasons I love this brand of tea is because they have such great values. They brew all of their tea in small batches, using real leaves no powders or additives, to ensure great quality. The great thing about selling the tea in a concentrated form is that it cuts down on waste by 3200%, making them a huge leader in environmentally friendly companies.

Although it has been freezing here in Austin, this frozen sweet tea granita can be a perfect food option for your next holiday party. Whether as a palate cleanser in between courses or as a dessert this is the perfect treat for Texans, or anyone really.

If it does seem too cold for the whether outside, one option is to put some granita in a bowl, squeeze lemon juive over top, and filled with rum or vodka. It will cool you down and warm you up.

This giveaway includes 2 bottles of Moonshine Sweet Tea concentrate, 2 novelty bar towels, a novelty tablecloth, mason jar glass, straws, and a $25 gift card to Wiggys Wine and Spirits on East 5th downtown.

Not bad huh?

Comment on this post anytime between now and Friday December 13th at midnight, explaining to me what you’re favorite christmas treat is. Easy as that.

Winner will be announced and contacted Saturday 14th.

Moonshine Sweet Tea Granita

(Recipe sponsored by Moonshine Sweet Tea)

 3 cups water

6 tbls moonshine sweet tea concentrate

lemons or limes for garnish

Mix together the water and moonshine sweet tea concentrate. Pour into an 8×8 dish and cover with plastic wrap.

Place in the freezer and let sit until it starts to freeze. Once it starts freezing begin scraping it with a fork to break the ice up, about every 15-20 minutes, at least 3 times.

You can leave it in the freezer or serve immediately.

I like to squeeze the lemon juice over top the granita for an Arnold Palmer flair, you could also add in some rum or alcohol of choice and serve it as a nice cocktail for your holiday parties!

  1. My favorite holiday treat is peppermint candy canes! They come in all colors and flavors that I never get bored eating them! They also can be used as Christmas tree decorations or crumbled up and sprinkled into my hot chocolate. MmmmmmMmmm.

  2. My favorite Christmas treat is a tea made by Celestial Teas called Candy Cane Lane. That and a cookie or two or three that I have while sitting in my favorite chair by the fireplace with my feet up makes me so happy!

  3. It has been a tradition in my family to have a slice of blueberry creme pie with a cup of coffee on Christmas morning.

  4. My favorite holiday treat is a toss up between Oreo truffles or puppy chow. Both are magically delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking about them now.
