Five Layer Dip

Coming from a background of being a completely socially awkward homeschooled girl, it amazes me how far I have come in the social world. In all seriousness, most people don’t even think I was ever homeschooled when they meet me because I can actually talk to them. It’s crazy.

The reason for this mostly from gaining confidence. Something everyone should learn how to have. Now, I’m also one of the those insecure girls on the inside, but no one needs to know that right? That’s where you convey confidence. So how does one go from being a socially awkward penguin to actually being able to have a normal conversation? Here are a few of my tips.

First off, you must learn how to seem confident without coming off as cocky. People are attracted to confident people but those who know they’re confident and flaunt it are not quite as desired. In fact you may be punched if you come off this way, so please. Learn the difference.

Secondly, follow the old age tips. Dress nice, shoulders back, stand up tall and smile. These will take you farther than you can imagine in life. Smiling and eye contact intimidate people. Even if you don’t think highly of yourself,(which you should) you will seem like you do to others.

Last, back your self up. Have an opinion, don’t cave in when someone wants you to do something you don’t want to do. That is called peer pressure my friend. It’s a no no. Support your morals and beliefs, don’t push it on others, but don’t cave in.

Well there you have it folks. My tips for being confident and a poor attemt at humour. Oh, and since the Superbowl is coming up soon, why not make dip for your party?
