Ah, Duchman Family Winery. Located in Dripping Springs Texas, Duchman is one of THE places to go for good wine in Texas and surprisingly I have never tasted their wines until now. I’ve always wanted to but in a world where there are aisles and aisles of wine to choose from, it’s easy to skip over certain wines for a long time.
But not this time.
I finally decided to grab a bottle and got the only one they had in stock at Central Market; a 2016 Trebbiano.
BTW, this post is not sponsored in any way! I just love promoting wines and brands that I love.
I’m mostly a red wine drinker but as the weather gets hotter it’s hard to beat a nice chilled white wine in the evening sitting on your porch. A nice fruity scent, that cool tart relief hitting your tongue. I can taste it now… mmmm.
So onto the wine! Like I said, I drink more red wine and that’s usually because white wines can be a bit too sweet sometimes. This Trebbiano however, is just right. The smell is light and fruity, and yes it is a bit sweet, but it’s got a nice tartness to it as well that makes it nice and refreshing.
It would be perfect for a get together with friends to have with some hor d’oeuvres and good chat. A nice, light wine, perfect for a Texas summer.
Which makes sense. The founders, Drs. Lisa and Stan Duchman, found the winery with a passion for bringing Italian style wines to Texas. With similar climates, it only makes sense that the wines would be just as outstanding as each other if done properly. And boy howdy, the Duchmans are doing a great job, especially for only getting started a little over 10 years ago!
Be sure to look them up here and be sure to visit!
